Bond was set at $30,000 Friday for a south suburban man charged with bringing a loaded semi-automatic pistol in his bag to Midway Airport on the Southwest Side.
Rick Jones, 43, of the 17200 block of Forestway Dr. in East Hazel Crest was charged with boarding an aircraft with a weapon, a Class 4 felony, according to a Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin.
Jones was arrested at 6:11 a.m. Thursday, according to prosecutors, who said he entered the airport to travel to Orlando, Fla., with a loaded .25 caliber Phoenix Arms semi-automatic pistol in his carry-on bag.
