Another Questionable Deal?

From a regular contributor of ours:
  • I'm been laying low lately. But if the feds want to do some investigating, talk to the Panasonic sales rep who tried to sell their superior version of a video camera system instead of the crappy Cobans. The Cobans were purchased under a "piggyback" scheme where Chicago could purchase the Cobans for the same price as a purchasing city. I believe the purchasing city was in N. or S. Carolina. Find out what that Carolina municipality "piggybacked" and lets see where ball goes from there.
Contracts let out by the City could provide at least a decade's worth of exposes to a budding investigative reporter. Tens of millions of dollars wasted annually while Shortshanks pleads poor and raises taxes could actually raise voter ire to record levels and provide the impetus for change.

Of course, the media being part and parcel of the Democratic party, exposing the rotten culture of Machine politics might actually encourage voters to look to Republicans as a cure. We guess that won't be happening.
