- The following is information taken from Deployment Operations Center Information Bulletin #s 2010-INF-001 and 001U in regards to emergency light bars that are known to have been stolen from parked emergency vehicles in and near Chicago.
02 Jan 10 / 03 Jan 10– A marked Illinois State Police vehicle was parked in the area of 5700 W. Grace Street when the emergency light bar that was mounted on top of the police vehicle was stolen. (RD#HS102849)
01 Jan 10 / 02 Jan 10– A Chicago Fire Department vehicle (2004 Crown Victoria) was parked near the location of 6600 N. Harlem Avenue when the emergency light bar that was mounted on top of the vehicle was stolen. (RD# HS101523)
29 Mar 09– A marked Chicago Police Department Canine vehicle was parked in the 5700 block of North East Circle. It was discovered that the light bar and beat tags were stolen. (RD# HR241498)
29 Mar 09– A marked Cook County Sheriff’s Police vehicle was parked near the location of the 6500 block of North Onarga. It was discovered that the LED emergency light bar that was on top of the police vehicle had been stolen. (RD# HR541615)
09 Dec 09– A marked Illinois State Police vehicle was parked near the location of 4400 block of North Mulligan Ave. It was discovered that the emergency light bar on top of the police vehicle had been stolen. Illinois State Police Field Report #(F-15-09-5972)
09 Apr 09– A marked Illinois State Police vehicle was parked near the location of 4700 block of North Sayre in Hardwood Heights, IL. It was discovered that the emergency light bars on top of the police vehicle were stolen. Illinois State Police Field Report #(F-03-09-1376)
