008 Search Warrant (read ALL Updates)

From the comments. Search Warrant in the 008th District last night. Cops grabbed a bunch of guns and upwards of a kilo of dope. There might be little problem:

• An occupant of the condo started dropping her mother's name;
• mom might be on the lease papers;
  
• mom is a cop;
• mom's nickname is "The Bartender"

God help us.

This is looking bad.

UPDATE: We have nuisance laws in this town. If criminal activity is going on in your building, you are subject to criminal penalties and civil forfeiture of the property. It happens constantly. There's even a "Problem Building" unit that works with the Building Department, Corp Counsel, Housing Court and others to seize property. You are responsible for your building.

We have red light cameras in this town. If your car is photographed by a red light camera, the driver doesn't get a ticket - the owner of the the car gets the $100 hit. "You are responsible for your car" is the argument. And if you attempt to appeal it, you go before a Hearing Officer who's only purpose is to generate revenue for the City administratively, and you will lose.

Reading the above two paragraphs, it's amusing to see the cover up beginning and the media playing along:

• Officers recovered 175 grams of cocaine and four guns in the home, and the man allegedly admitted "criminal involvement," Bond said.
  
  He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of ammunition and firearms. Neither he nor Cuello's relative was identified.
  
  "At this time the investigation has revealed the relative had no involvement with the offender's criminal activity," Bond said. No other arrests were made.

Four guns and a-third-of-a-pound of blow and the "relative" has no idea what was going on? But she's dropping mom's name everywhere? Sorry, not credible. Dude is taking the weight, plain and simple.

Looking back, Cline didn't allegedly beat any bartenders or allegedly beat any businessmen or allegedly steal any dope money, but he resigned. We're hoping someone does the right thing and resigns today.
