- Former Republican Gov. Jim Edgar is giving a boost to Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn's proposal to raise the state income tax.
Edgar says the state can't fix its budget mess without a tax increase. The state faces a $13 billion budget deficit.
The Republican candidate for governor, state Sen. Bill Brady of Bloomington, is campaigning on a pledge not to raise taxes.
Hey Jim, how about shutting up and giving him a chance to relieve the unbelievable burden being put on and overtaxed, underserved and increasingly shrinking middle class? The citizens of Illinois can't afford Quinn's budget and continued mismanagement. Why not be part oft he solution instead of part of the Combine that has pretty much ruined Illinois as a location for business?
