- Mayor Richard Daley today defended Police Supt. Jody Weis' request that the U.S. Secret Service investigate a recent incident where a 14-year-old boy tricked Chicago police into thinking he was an officer.
"I don't know why people don't like other people coming in to look at the process you're in," Daley said. "There's nothing wrong with that. I salute [Weis] for doing that."
Let's see...
- Daley has attempted to undercut his own Inspector General on numerous occasions, even signing a rule that say the IG cannot investigate aldercreatures, arguable the most corrupt of all political creatures.
- The Machine/Combine (led by Daley) actively fought to prevent former Senator Peter Fitzgerald from appointing the current US Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald coming in and upsetting the apple cart that is Illinois politics. Daley even had his tame Senator Turban try to circumvent the process by which the senior Senator recommends the US Attorney for their state.
And we've all seen how he hates whenever the media manages to uncover some low level scam that burns a few unclouted pawns and leads to promises of massive reform, all of which are forgotten by the time the next election rolls around.
