On Internet chat sites and at the water cooler, cops have been warning each other not to drink and drive in the wake of charges against a Chicago Police detective accused of killing two young men last week in an allegedly alcohol-fueled wreck.
Officers have been urging each other to grab their colleagues' keys or hail a cab for those who appear intoxicated.
Police Supt. Jody Weis stressed Monday that he is serious about cracking down on cops who drive drunk.
