Two More Police Shootings

  • A Chicago Police sergeant who stopped a minivan with suspects believed to have been involved in the earlier shooting of a boy on the South Side was not injured when the suspects opened fire on him Monday afternoon.

The sergeant was responding to the area of 62nd Street and Vernon Avenue just after 2 p.m., where a juvenile had been wounded in a drive-by shooting, police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli said.

Some people are in custody already.
