If the Chicago ban is struck down, it will endanger the lives of police officers, Daley warned.
“If you allow people to arm themselves, that places all first-responders — paramedics, police, anyone — in jeopardy going into their homes. You don’t know if they have a gun,” the mayor said
Well, we already don't know if they have a gun Shortshanks. We're sure we've wandered into dozens of domestics where there was a gun somewhere in the house. But by being aware of what was going on and making sure things got calmed down, nothing bad happened.
And then J-Fed rises from Daley's lap and chimes in with his two-cents:

- Police Supt. Jody Weis added, “Every time there’s a domestic disturbance, we [will] have to assume there’s a gun.”
Un-fucking-believable. First, a guy who hasn't been more than twenty feet from a gun his entire life, seeing as how the CPD babysat him, drove him everywhere, and has been his bodyguard for over 60 years now. And then a clueless feeb who has never been anywhere near a domestic disturbance (or maybe once depending on the rumors you hear) thinks he has to tell us to "assume" there's a gun on the scene of a domestic. Well supercop, we already know there's a gun on the scene, hopefully two. We brought it there you idiot!
Someone want to clue these strokes in? Because we're tired of doing it.
