Businessman Shoots, Kills Robber

Honestly, it's like the citizens and store-owners suddenly realized that there is a Supreme Court decision about to come down justifying a Right that is enshrined in the Constitution for the sole purpose of protecting oneself:
  • The owner of a Northwest Side pawn shop shot and killed one of three men who tried robbing his business at gunpoint, a source said.

The 24-year-old man killed had a prior robbery conviction and was sentenced to boot camp, according to court records.

The store's owner opened fire on the three men during an attempted robbery shortly before 1 p.m. Tuesday inside the Fullerton Pawners, 5900 W. Fullerton Ave. in the city's Belmont Cragin community, a source said.
And yet again, our assertion that a camera never prevented a crime...:
  • A Chicago police blue-light camera sits on a pole about 10 feet away from the entrance, but it wasn't clear whether it captured any images of the fleeing robbers. Detectives could be seen taking the hard drive for the store's surveillance cameras.
And once again, this amazing insight from J-Fed:
  • If that gun wasn't in the pawn shop, there's probably an excellent chance that this boot camp honor graduate would be alive today."
We may have made up that last part.
