- Ok there are decoys going around each district trying to break district security. They have young people that work for IAD just trying to go around each station until they are detected. from what i understand 016 has passed & 025 has failed. NFI. Does anybody have any other info?
We know the stations are unsecured. They have been for years, decades in some cases. Brand new stations have built-in security flaws with non-working electronics, alarms, sally ports, etc. Those aren't flaws - they're features! Fixing these problems will take a capital expenditure Shortshanks isn't willing to part with.
So IAD might be sending people around to violate already unsecured buildings? What's the point of this except for a highly demoralizing and high stakes game of "gotcha!"? Some IAD urchin runs around a station snapping pictures, testing broken doors, wandering into processing areas and then what? A Commander gets called, dressed down, has to write a report? And since shit flows downhill, he's going to rag on the troops, further driving down non-existent morale? Maybe he'll down a few cars (as we've been hearing lately) to have officers sit in hallways monitoring broken doors, further shorting an already skeletal street crew?
We certainly hope that IAD isn't wasting time doing this on the orders of some nimrod who thinks they're addressing a problem. They're not. They're addressing a symptom of a Department that stopping giving a fuck. Apathy has set in and unless something changes very soon, that apathy is going to be set in concrete for the foreseeable future.
