A man was charged with assault to a police officer for allegedly firing shots at police during an early Sunday chase on the South Side, police said.
An officer fired shots, but nobody was struck or injured.
Larry Tate, 31, of the 5500 block of South Wells Street, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, aggravated assault to a police officer and possession of cannabis, police said.
We'll never understand how with the myriad of gun laws on the books, felons who shouldn't own guns keep getting guns. If we were a felon, we'd be scared to even go near a gun seeing as how there are approximately 1,254,756 laws against felons even thinking about a gun or breathing the same air as a gun.
Thank goodness we're the police and can have a gun. We sure feel sorry for all those Illinois and Chicago citizens who aren't even allowed to have guns because they might actually defend themselves, their loved ones or any other citizen unfortunate enough to be accosted by an armed thug intent on bodily harm and mayhem.
The law is a ass.
