More $$$

Shortshanks has to be pulling this money out of his ass:

• Chicago will spend up to $1 million to expand energy assistance at 21 sites across the city.
  
  Mayor Richard Daley said this morning the city will help low-income residents apply for energy bill assistance, as well as weatherization programs that make homes more energy efficient.
  
  Funding comes from a variety of grants. The sites include religious organizations, community groups and health centers.
  
  "We must do all we can to protect those who are struggling," Daley said.

Struggling? Has anyone seen their property tax bill lately? Or the last two years of tax increases? And Shortshanks is going to piss away another million bucks? We'll spare everyone the stories about those who heat the great outdoors with all the windows open when it's below 50 degrees and the kerosene heaters setting entire buildings on fire because no one reads the warning panel.
