FOP Board Meeting Today

Different from the General Meeting, but since it's election day today, perhaps someone would like to show up and ask the Board how they managed to let an endorsement go through for a lawyer who defends people who shoot cops. The meeting is at 9 or 10 am we think.

Here's Mark Donahue's latest reply to a reader of ours when he asked how this happened:
  • It should be obvious that we didn't know. Gallagher came recommended from Police and Politicians alike. Had we heard from our members before the endorsement process began, I'm sure the outcome would be different. Gallagher has been out there campaigning since last June and no one came up with this info till this past Friday. He is running unopposed in the primary and we will be able to take corrective measures in the fall. Thanks for the input.

So it's the memberships' fault the FOP didn't do their homework and they took recommendations from politicians and unnamed police officers? How do we know who's seeking the endorsement prior to them appearing before your committee?

Here's a clue Mark - politicians have axes to grind and agendas to pursue. You and your ticket were elected to look out for the members' interests. You seem to have failed - badly - and you want to blame the membership? Did you even ask the membership if they had any experiences with those seeking the FOP endorsement? We didn't see a list of names in the newsletter or the website.

Once a lawyer dips their beak into defending those who would murder us, there's really no return to our good graces. The same might be said for those who endorse those same lawyers.
