Chicago Tonight

You peons better shut your pie holes. You aren't allowed to have opinions, let alone express those opinions. Opinions are for your political masters and the media who are supposed to sing the praises of those masters (Masters Masters Masters):
  • John McCarron, of the Chicago Tribune, stated tonight/Friday (on Chicago Tonight, wttw):

"Reporters in Chicago are very hesitant to say anything bad about the cops, but let me tell ya, when, when they were picketing City Hall, when the Olympic visiting team was here, yelling daley sucks, daley sucks, I kind of lost, y'know, lost it with the Chicago Police. I think they're a little bit pampered sometimes, they uh, they don't think the rules apply to them and uh, I think a lot of people are beginning to feel that way, too. I'm not talking about the yknow, cops, out there at night, uh, doing the things that need to be done, but just, in general," -Callaway interjects a comment about bending the rules- "yeah, they sure do, they sure do (bend the rules), they're sort of prima donnas in a lot of ways."
We're trying to find the linked interview, but WTTW is a few days behind in putting them up. It's been pointed out that the host isn't Callaway anymore, it's Joel Weisman. That first line beggars the imagination though:
  • Reporters in Chicago are very hesitant to say anything bad about the cops...
What fucking planet is this asshole from? One word for you asshat - Abbate. You'd be hard pressed to find a single soul with access to a television who hasn't seen that tape half a dozen times. And once again, we aren't defending that jagoff - we're merely pointing out the media overkill of what was simply an out-of-control drunk who never should have been hired in the first place. Why don't you cover the fact that this site and others expressed the opinion Abbate should have been fired years ago?

Or how about covering the 001 and 018 wildings, bar fights and mayhem downtown every weekend? It'll cost you exactly one camera crew and a police scanner and you'll have enough footage to run for a year. Or will Shortshanks make faces at you and claim you're being politically incorrect?
