Out of towners stabbed, roving gangs of teens and young adults beating the crap out of each other, chains, bottles, emergency assists one after the other. If they canceled the southside Irish parade after the 50 arrests, there's no way they shouldn't cancel this disaster. I can't wait to see what Humbolt Park looks like in a few weeks. My tact team is detailed there next!
And we got another e-mail saying the Polish parade up north wasn't a nice time again with Belmont Avenue shut down at one point and crime scene tape up all over. Anyone have info on that?
The fact is, these "parades" seem to be getting more and more out of control. We're seeing more instances of public disorder and we aren't sure if the parade goers are being assholes more often or there are less police detailed to the events so the assholes that were always there are getting bolder.
And we have a whole summer's worth of events to evaluate.
