Burger Queen Memo

From an anonymous tipster:

Hopefully, you can click on the photo and read the whole thing. If not, read below:
  • It has been brought to the undersigned's attention that Officer's [sic] assigned to the desk and Beat Meetings, [sic] are informing citizen's [sic] that manpower is low and they can complain to the Alderman, Mayor or Superintendent's office. At no time will any Officer(s) make comments or discuss Manpower with any citizen(s). This is a direct violation of the Police Department Rules & Regulations; officers failing to adhere to the Department Rules & Regulations will be subject to disciplinary actions. Officers are to be courtesy [sic] and professional at all times.
First of all, it's embarrassing that something this grammatically pathetic ever got published, even in a CO Book. We don't profess to be "Masters of the Language," but at least we passed English through high school and even wrote a few college term papers that got B's.

Second, this is a pretty feeble attempt to ignore the fact that 003 has had 30 openings for the past what...six months? There's a reason that no one is bidding to 003 and not just because it's a crappy out-of-the-way station in a crappy neighborhood. Start at the top.

And third, we don't see how telling people that 003 is shorthanded is impeding Department goals. Someone has to point out the obvious. And obviously, 003 is shorthanded. And logically, being shorthanded means you aren't able complete the goals of the Department. Who better to complain to than the aldercreature, mayor or superintendent?

The "discredit to the Department" part we'll leave to the Burger Queen's gun violation, the subsequent cover-up, the 30+ openings unfilled for half-a-year or more, and an "F" for grammar, spelling and sentence structure.
