• An alleged gang member is dead when he was accidentally run over by a sport-utility vehicle driven by a member of his own gang during an early Sunday gang fight on the South Side.

  Andrew Aleon, 25, of an unidentified home address, was struck by a vehicle on the 2800 block of East 95th Street and was dead on the scene, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.

  Aleon, an alleged gang member, and other members of the gang to which he belongs approached members of a rival gang as they left a gas station and began beating them with their fists and bats about 1:45 a.m., police said.

You have to love these idiots sometimes. The humor value alone. But is it a homicide? Or a "not quite" an accident?
