Pay-to-Park at Juvie Court?

On duty in a marked car? We're there at the behest of the justice system. We don't recall being required to have to pay out of pocket to park a city vehicle for somewhere we are ordered to be.

  Today, 01SEP09, while at juvenile court a letter was posted in the police room stating starting 01OCT09 there will be no more free parking for law enforcement officers. The garage is converting to an automated system and there will be no more cashiers taking the signed tickets. There is no provision for officers on or off duty, such as a marked/unmarked squad car. The letter was written on Cook County letterhead and addressed to the sheriff's union.

Someone else said this might be starting at 26th Street? We think the County ought to set up a valet parking system and validate parking. It'll be a cold day in hell before we give Stroger a dime of our cash for this crap.
