Four people were injured in three separate shootings around the city last night and early today, police said.
Two men in their 20s were shot on the street about 12:30 a.m. at Van Buren Street and Pulaski Road, News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said, citing preliminary information. One man was shot in the chest and the other was shot in the thigh.
In the 300 block of West Oak Street, a 28-year-old man was shot in the legs about 12:15 a.m. after a dispute with the offender, she said. The victim was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition.
And three people were shot at, but only one was hit, in what may have been a gang-related drive-by about 6 p.m. Monday in the 3400 block of North Lowell AvenueA man was shot and killed in the Lawndale neighborhood on the West Side this morning in what police initially described as a home invasion.
The man, who has not been identified, was shot in the chest at a home in the 1800 block of South Millard Avenue and was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he died, police said.
Two men were shot tonight on the 1700 block of West Cermak Road, in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood.
While there were few preliminary details, Chicago Police Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said officers responded to a call of persons shot at that location at about 6:52 p.m.
