Blackhawks star winger Patrick Kane was arrested early this morning in his hometown of Buffalo and faces robbery and other charges after allegedly assaulting a cab driver and failing to pay the fare, according to police.
Kane, 20, and a cousin, James M. Kane, 21, are alleged to have punched the cab driver and taken back money they had given him after the driver told them he didn't have 20 cents in coins to give them exact change, according to Buffalo police spokesman Michael DeGeorge.
Drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son. In any case, a number of people were taunting the blog with comparisons to the Derrick Rose photograph controversy and attempting to make this a racial issue and daring us to write about it.
Fine. A drunk white kid with a talent for hockey made some bad choices and is facing a felony charge with a few misdemeanors tossed in for good measure. Happy? It's not like he's advertising for a criminal enterprise that's been implicated in hundreds of violent deaths, thousands of criminal acts annually and billions of dollars in illegal narcotics trafficking.
All kidding aside, this was truly dumb beyond belief.
