Help an Evanston Cop

An off-duty motorcycle crash a few weeks ago, we got this letter from a friend of Joe Bush:
  • An elderly motorist turned left in front of Joe and despite my friend's efforts to avoid the crash, he was thrown off the bike and sustained serious injuries. Joe was taken to the Lutheran General Hospital where he flatlined several times during first few hours after the accident. Since then doctors were able to stabilize Joe's condition. However, almost a month after the accident, Joe is still in medically induced coma, battling infections and fever which prevent doctors from performing surgeries to repair Joe's fractured pelvis and hip.

Joe is a father of two awesome kids, the brother of a Skokie cop and the son of a retired Evanston firefighter. Joe served as a patrolman, Tact officer and, just few weeks before the accident, got the transfer order to the detective bureau.
There's a blood drive organized:
  • The date of the Blood Drive and Fund Raiser is Monday, December 14th, 2009 from 11:00am-6:00pm at the Evanston Fire Department Headquarters located at 909 Lake Street, Evanston IL. And here's a link to follow his fight:
