- Chicago Police seized about 300 pounds of marijuana from a community grocery store in the West Pullman neighborhood overnight, finding it hidden in secret compartments and behind walls.
Police say they followed drug activity from the suburbs to the city. A tip led them to a large amount of marijuana at a tiny grocery store in the 12200 block of South Halsted Street.
Police said the drugs seized late Wednesday had a street value of about $1 million. Police say the pot was sold one pound at a time as part of a large-scale distribution operation.
Good jobs boys and girls.
