Learning Curve

  • One might think that after the well-publicized tows of 234 cars from city streets on the first night of the winter overnight parking ban, vehicle owners would make certain their cars were off the designated streets on the second night of enforcement.

But 164 more woke up Wednesday morning to find their cars had been towed from the 107 miles of streets where the ban is in effect.

And don't doubt for a second that Shortshanks has Streets & Sanitation supervisors out there with tape measures checking to see if tonight's slush amounts to 2" so they can declare an additional 500 miles of streets to be Snow Tow hunting grounds. We might even go so far as to speculate the tape measures used have been altered by half-an-inch or so and they'll only measure in "lake effect" areas. Hopefully, Tommy Skilling can keep them honest.
