Another multiple casualty shooting, this time in broad daylight. In 015:

• The shooting happened around noon outside the Gospel Truth Life Changing Ministries, 5301 W. Madison St., in the South Austin neighborhood. Kilmer said a group of mourners were gathered outside of a funeral service at the church for a "self-admitted" gang member.

  The service was for 28-year-old Cornelius Robinson, of the 1200 block of North Cicero Avenue, who died Sunday, according to authorities. An autopsy performed the following day at the Cook County medical examiner's office determined Robinson died of obesity and heart trouble.

  "An offender approached on foot, walked up to the intended target and shot multiple times," Kilmer said. "The offender then proceeded to fire at the crowd as he fled the scene."

  Witnesses on the scene were not cooperating with police, Kilmer said, adding that the shooting was "obviously gang-related."

The new and improved Chicago Police Department approach to Aggravated Batteries - shovel up the pieces, call for a wash-down, move on. Of course, there's the added "replace a commander, strip 016, 017, 019 and 020 of tact teams, and deprive taxpayers police coverage for a populace that refuses to cooperate."
